In celebration of National Environmental Awareness Month, the Environmental Sustainability and Governance Office (ESGO) spearheaded a comprehensive environmental forum on November 25 at EKB Auditorium, ASC–Luna Campus.

Anchored on the theme “ASC Green Governance: Leading the Charge for Climate-Resilient Campuses,” ESG Officer For. David A. Rodolfo underscored the urgency of the climate crisis. “Climate crisis is no longer a distant threat; it is an immediate reality. But our goal is not merely to survive—it is to thrive sustainably. This forum answers the national call for balanced development and environmental sustainability,” he said.

Environmental Specialist Ay-Ann Agcon delivered an in-depth presentation on The State of the Environment and ASC’s Role, highlighting the college’s pivotal position in cultivating environmental awareness, advancing research, empowering communities, and embedding sustainability across academic and administrative systems.

For. Rodolfo further elaborated on Integrating Green Practices for Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Campuses, outlining the necessity of aligning institutional efforts with global benchmarks such as the UI GreenMetric.

He stressed that by improving waste management, enhancing energy and water efficiency, adopting climate-resilient infrastructure, strengthening biodiversity programs, and promoting sustainable mobility, ASC can significantly reduce its ecological footprint while preparing for intensifying climate impacts.

Participants also engaged in thematic discussions on waste management, sustainable transportation, biodiversity conservation, greening initiatives, energy efficiency, and climate adaptation research. These inputs were consolidated into a SWOT analysis, the results of which will directly inform the institution’s Green Action Planning and the forthcoming ASC Sustainability Plan.
